Where journalists have greatness thrust upon them
Ben Watson will be delivering an online resources session for stage 2 students on Wednesday 21 October between 2.00 and 3.30 in the Drill Hall Training Room.
Thank you all for volunteering to help out at the Open Day. Harriet Robinson and Beth O'Leary. The event takes place in the Pilkington Room on the ground floor of Pilkington building from 10.00 - 3.00. Helpers wil be located both here and the Newsroom. Please meet in Pilkington at 10.00 and Tim will tell you where you need to be and what you need to do.
A member of the Univesity Web Team will be on Campus on Wednesday 14 October to do some filiming for the University website. He wants to include the Centre and we have suggested that he should come during Conference.
An electronic resources training session will be delivered by Sarah Root in the Drill Hall Library at 12.00 on Thursday 15 October for all first year students (even if you went on the library tour during Welcome Week, you mus still go). Please ensure you attend this as it is unlikely that Sarah will have time to do another one.
Sorry guys but the room for the Thursday session (14.00 - 15.00) of History of Journalism has changed to G3-19.
The Thursday session of Power without Responsibility will in future be held in room G3-19. The Monday session is as per the timetable M0-23.
All students please note that the NCTJ is introducing a student login area on its website. This will permit you to view your exam results and also access any key information that may be useful to you. I have provided them with all your University email addresses and you will receive an email from them shortly with your login details. You should then log on to your private area and complete the rest of the record, address, 'phone number etc. Once you have done this you wil have access to relevant information. Please remember to update your record
Please note that the seminar room for Power without Responsibility on Thursday at 11.00 will now be M1-22.
If you feel strongly about the impact on the environment of coal-fired power stations, then you may want to attend the event on 7 October. See attached details.
