The Independent has used the online tool Debategraph to produce an interactive graphic illustrating the debate on the economic future of newspapers. It's a 'collaborative' tool, which means that readers can log in and add their own thoughts and comments to the graphic, much like a wiki.

The aim, the newspaper says, is to "weave together all of the salient issues, positions and arguments dispersed through the community into a single rich, transparent structure – in which each idea and argument is expressed just once – so that it’s possible to explore all perspectives quickly and gain a good sense of the scope and perceived merits of the different arguments."

I've embedded it above. Whether it adds anything to the debate is, well, debatable, but it's an interesting experiminent in storytelling nonetheless.
