Second years: there are now several copies of the excellent Editorial Design by Yolanda Zappaterra in the Drill Hall Library.
Does anyone have any suggestions on books that I should buy (as in I will need them all the time) for Public Affairs?
Does anyone have a copy of "The Challenge of Democracy" by Cunningham? I need to read the first two chapters by Monday, the due date of my book through the post is Tuesday and the library has no copies, not even the reference! If I could borrow one for a day or two that would be great.
Hey guys,
Attention for all those who are in need of books!!!
This is my unashamedly left-wing/green list of must reads for journalists. There are, I'm sure you'll notice, a few glaring absences, such as My Trade, Flat Earth News, etc. I've made this list deliberately personal, I wanted to avoid the books that you'll all have been recommended since September already. Anyway, let me know what you think, and if you have any that you'd add to a list of your own!
Can anyone recommend any good books, prefereably non-fiction? I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I'm going to read next.
My current ideas are:
The Shock Doctrine - Naomi Klein
In Defence of Lost Causes - Slavoj Zizek
The Vanishing Face of Gaia - James Lovelock
Hold Everything Dear - John Berger
From Marxism to Post-Marxism - Goran Therborn
OR The Other - Ryzard Kapuscinski
But I'm not particularly drawn to any of them over the others. Any ideas?
