Afghanistan & Wikileaks: Julian Assange at the Frontline Club

On Monday Wikileaks released a mountain of documents on the war in Afghanistan through the Guardian, the New York Times and German weekly Der Spiegel.

The picture painted is chaotic: failed attempts to win the 'hearts and minds' of the Afghan people, numerous incidences of civilian casualties and evidence that both Iran and Pakistan are helping the Taliban.

Clinton becoming a minister is unconstitutional

It is widely known, that Obama has asked Clinton to become the secretary of state. It has been widely discussed the possible outcomes of the choice, including things like how could Clinton block many Obama's decisions.

However, what is now surprising, is that the constitution itself does not allow Clinton to become the secretary of state. The constitution actually does not allow any Congress member whose salarie has been increased over the last year. 

The question now is: will the 'slight constitutional blockage' be ignored or respected?

 

US funding Iranian nukes

As it turns out, US is indirectly funding the research and creation of the ever-so-controversial nuclear reactors. These reactors, stated to be with a peaceful purpose by the Iranian govt., are suspected to start producing plutonium for military purposes.

The US finance is indirect, because it is funneled through the Russian scientists, working in Iran. After the cold war, Russian scientists were employed by the US, to prevent the scientists starting work for rogue countries.
