BBC comedy Absolutely Fabulous is rumoured to be returning for a new series in the US, set in Los Angeles.
According to the BBC News website, the UK sitcom first shown in the 1990s starring Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders, will be given a new series if a Fox TV network pilot episode is successful.
Saunders, who alongside Dawn French wrote the series, will reportedly produce content for the US version, whilst pictures will be co-produced by Sony TV and BBC Worldwide.
Absolutely Fabulous was broadcast between 1992 and 1995 and ran for three series, with six episodes each.
The show returned to the BBC in 2001 until 2004, with two extra series broadcast.
Guest stars on the show include film actress Minnie Driver, 1980's Howard's Way star, Kate O'Mara and pop singer, Lulu.
The sitcom documents the glitz and glamour of the decadent West London lives of fashion manager/publicist Edina Monsoon, played by Saunders and her tag-along lay-about female friend, Patsy Stone, portrayed by Lumley.
Monsoon and Stone's behaviour continuously anger Monsoon's daughter Saffron, who often has to act as a mother for her seemingly incapable and adolescent behaving parent.
June Whitfield, star of 1970s/'80s comedy Terry and June and an occasional guest star on Morecambe and Wise, portrays Edina's mother and often suffers tirades of abuse from her and Patsy.
A BBC spokeswoman refused to comment on speculation as to whether the TV show intimately named, "Ab Fab", would air on TV screens in the US.
