I mentioned this to Ian on Friday, but I thought I should formally mention to you how impressed Stephen and I were with the young people we interviewed with Ian on Friday. We’re very comfortable with the outcome, and I’m sure Alan will be a very worthy inaugural scholar. What’s more: we were impressed with the general calibre of the students, their written submissions and their performances in the interviews. They did themselves and the university great credit.
