That hologram in all its glory

CNN's ludicrous hologram experiment last night is now available in all its glory courtesy of Youtube. Click below to play it. We even get an explanation of how it was done.

Why? Why have they done that? What purpose does it serve?

and since my sense of humour appears to be reaching a record low and I can be amused about almost anything:

the first time I looked at it - and before I realised that was her surname - the text seemed to read:

"CNN's Jessica yellin' via hologram from Chicago"

Wow!! Technology really is advancing, only America would do something like this, it's like apparition in Harry Potter has come to reality :) Although i must say it's a little scary.....

No waaaay! She has an awesome Star Wars lightsaber glow surrounding her!

... May seem pointless now, but they will develop it and come up with more uses for it. Interactive TV started out rocky, but there are all sorts of uses for it now. Mobile phones when they first started out seemed pointless as they were so huge, it would have been more convenient to have a pocket full of change and go to a phone box. HDTV as well, why do we need 4x more detail... really?

You see it as pointless now, but in years to come, it may even do away with news studio's altogether. Businesses could use specially designed conference rooms with it. Holograms have always been a thing of fiction, now the technology is emerging.. the possibilities are endless really.

This is awesome. I am so glad countries like America try new things like this, it really does freshen things up. And its nice they explain how it all works too.

I had to watch that twice because after it finished I realised that I had no idea what they said. That's amazing. I think lectures should be done like that in future, then I wouldn't have to get out of bed so early.

That I think, is one of the most best uses for massively advancing technology I've heard so far.

Honestly, it'd make life so much more easier and comfortable. :D
