Basically it is David Viner, a young musician who has had his hours cut at his job due to the credit crunch.

Sky Bob Friend scholarship award ceremony sticky icon

Gunning for journalists

Following the news that Alexander Lebedev, new owner of the Evening Standard, has armed reporters on his newspaper in Moscow, Richard has written a piece on the issue for Comment is Free. He mentions Geraldo Rivera, the idiotic pistol-packing American TV 'reporter whose ludicrous television packages from Iraq and Afghanistan broght shame on the profession - but unfortunately I can't find any YouTube footage that does justice to his true awfulness. 

Centre for Journalism interviews: video

The search for next year's undergraduates for the Centre for Journalism is on, with the first candidates attending for interviews on Wednesdays throughout December. The prospective students are interviewed by lecturers, after which they take a test to prove their grammar capabilities, news reporting skills and knowledge of current affairs. They are also taken by this year's students on tours around the campus and offered lunch in the newsroom.
